2017 LETR Final Leg

Since 1993, Law Enforcement Officers from around the world have participated in the Final Leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run prior to a Special Olympics Games. LETR have proudly taken the role as the “Guardians of the Flame” and have taken on the duty to carry the Special Olympics Torch safely to the Opening Ceremony of every Special Olympics Games.

Medicine Hat proudly hosted over 1,300 athletes, coaches and mission staff from 25 Alberta communities and N.W.T for the 2017 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games from July 7 to 9.

Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alberta was pleased to partner with Mr. Lube as Presenting Sponsor for the 2017 LETR Final Leg.

We had the privilege of working with LETR on a few “Free Our Finest” fundraisers in the summer of 2016 and never looked back.  Our teams had an amazing time at these events, and immediately connected with many of the athletes and volunteers.  It seemed like a great fit so we pursued a partnership with LETR and Special Olympics Alberta.

Mr. Lube has always sought out grassroots level fundraising in the communities where we work, live and play.  These initiatives help create a real and lasting bond between our staff and those we partner with.  The benefits are immeasurable and keep our teams involved in the community which benefits everyone.

                                                                                                 Mr. Lube

Mr. Lube’s partnership supported seven Final Leg events in communities across Alberta as well as the Final Leg into the Summer Games Opening Ceremonies. Thank you to the many Law Enforcement members and volunteers that took part in all the Final Leg runs across Alberta.
