2017 500km Provincial Ride

The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run 500km Bike Ride for Special Olympics Alberta departed from Lethbridge and Fort McMurray on Friday, June 16th.  Law Enforcement members from RCMP, Lethbridge Correctional Service, Alberta Sheriffs, Lethbridge Police Service, Animal Services, Blood Tribe Police and Taber Police Service met in Edmonton on June 18th to help escort the Edmonton Torch Run into their destination at Free Our Finest.

Thanks to these dedicated Law Enforcement members over $37,000 was raised to help support programs across the province for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Thank you to the many sponsors and donors that support this incredible journey across the Province!

Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle internationally. In Alberta, 18 agencies in 117 communities contribute to LETR efforts annually, not only with events, but as Guardians of the Flame ensuring the delivery of the Special Flame of Hope to the opening ceremony of Provincial Games and sending off our local athletes to National and World Games.
