2017 Free Our Finest Calgary

On June 16th Law Enforcement members were raised to the roof at Cabela’s to embark on 53 hours camping to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Alberta.

Officers sang, danced and participated in water fights.  The public came out to meet Special Olympic Athletes, visit with our Officers, and enjoy our Show & Shine.  Thanks to the maNy hours put in by our Finest and the generous support of many donors we were able to raise over $7,500 to support athletic programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Without the support of our partners this fundraiser would not be possible. Thank you to Aluma Systems for donating the scaffolding, Maple Leaf Foods, Cabela’s and the many volunteers and Officers that donate their time for our Athletes!

Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle internationally. In Alberta, 18 agencies in 117 communities contribute to LETR efforts annually, not only with events, but as Guardians of the Flame ensuring the delivery of the Special Flame of Hope to the opening ceremony of Provincial Games and sending off our local athletes to National and World Games.
