2019 Polar Plunge – Calgary
Don’t miss out on your chance to plunge into one of Calgary’s icy lakes to support Special Olympics.
The Polar Plunge – Calgary challenges people to bravely jump into Arbour Lake (12 Arbour Lake Dr NW). It’s a great way for everyone—individuals, organizations and businesses—to get involved in supporting Special Olympics Alberta.
This chilling event happens only once a year! Grab some friends, make a team and get ready for the coolest party you can have on a frozen lake.
Plungers must raise a minimum of $75 to jump to frozen glory, and can raise additional funds to earn extra incentives along the way. If you raise at least $250 you will receive flip flops and a Polar Plunge towel. Raise at least $750 and you’ll receive flip flops, a Polar Plunge towel and a Polar Plunger Under Armour duffle bag. Alex Singleton from the Stampeders, T’suutina Police Chief Blake, and several Calgary Police Service deputy chiefs joined over 150 plungers from the Calgary area and raised over $60,000 for Special Olympics Alberta in 2018!
For 2019 we are setting our goal at $250,000 across the province. We know you can beat last year’s totals Calgary!
This year in Calgary, the Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Run will be plunging on February 23rd, 2019 at Arbour Lake. Register as a team or individual today!
Each year members of the Law Enforcement Torch Run® along with local Special Olympics Programs invite the local community, businesses, celebrities and sponsors to brave the freezing cold waters during their respective Polar Plunge® events.
This event raises funds for local Special Olympics Programs and raises awareness about the power of Special Olympics through hosting unique experiences with music, food and most of all fun.
Are you brave enough to be freezin’ for a reason?
