Event Details


From Friday, August 10th to Sunday, August 12th, the Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alberta (LETR) and Walmart Canada will team-up to hold a major fundraising event in support of Special Olympics Alberta.

Members from Airdrie’s law enforcement agencies will stay atop the Walmart at 2881 Main St. until Sunday at 4pm after being hoisted up to the top of the building at 10:00am Friday morning.

Members of the public are encouraged to help Free our Finest and support Special Olympics by stopping by to make a donation, or by purchasing a hotdog or pop at the event. LETR shirts, and other merchandise will also be on hand for purchase with all proceeds going to Special Olympics.

Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle internationally. In Alberta, 18 agencies in 117 communities contribute to LETR efforts annually, not only with events, but as Guardians of the Flame ensuring the delivery of the Special Flame of Hope to the opening ceremony of Provincial Games and sending off our local athletes to National and World Games.
