Don’t miss out on your chance to take the plunge in Red Deer to support Special Olympics.

The Polar Plunge – Red Deer challenges people to bravely jump into icy water at Bower-Kin Community Centre. It’s a great way for everyone—individuals, organizations and businesses—to get involved in supporting Special Olympics Alberta.

This chilling event happens only once a year! Grab some friends, make a team and get ready for the coolest party you can have on a frozen lake.

Plungers must raise a minimum of $75 to jump to frozen glory, and can raise additional funds to earn extra incentives along the way.  If you raise at least $250 you will receive sunglasses and a Polar Plunge towel.  Raise at least $750 and you’ll receive sunglasses, a Polar Plunge towel and a Polar Plunger Under Armour jacket.

Even though this is Red Deer’s first Polar Plunge for Special Olympics, you will be joining the likes of Rick Mercer who took the plunge last year in Edmonton!

For 2018 we are setting our goal at 1,000 plungers across the province. Show the other communities what you are made of Red Deer!!

This year in Red Deer, the Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Run will be plunging on February 3re, 2018 at Bower-Kin Community Centre. Register as a team or individual today!

Each year members of the Law Enforcement Torch Run® along with local Special Olympics Programs invite the local community, businesses, celebrities and sponsors to brave the freezing cold waters during their respective Polar Plunge® events.

This event raises funds for local Special Olympics Programs and raises awareness about the power of Special Olympics through hosting unique experiences with music, food and most of all fun.

Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle internationally. In Alberta, 18 agencies in 117 communities contribute to LETR efforts annually, not only with events, but as Guardians of the Flame ensuring the delivery of the Special Flame of Hope to the opening ceremony of Provincial Games and sending off our local athletes to National and World Games.
