Alberta Torch Runners join the Final Leg in Vancouver

Alberta Law Enforcement Torch Runners, Mathew Wilton of the Camrose County Police Service and Hayley Flynn of the Calgary Police Service, are in Vancouver today with Team Alberta Softball athlete, Rocky (George Hagel). The three have had the great honour of being selected to represent Alberta in the Special Olympics Canada National Games Final Leg run.

The three of them are doing great and are on the fourth and final day of the Final Leg run. So far they have run through numerous communities throughout the lower main land in beautiful British Columbia on their 45 km journey with the Flame of Hope. Today they will run four separate legs which will wind them through Burnaby and three areas of Vancouver. They will then end their run tonight by bringing the flame into the opening ceremonies of the games.

Hayley Flynn says they are having an “awesome time! So tired and sore, but it is an amazing experience, so many great people!”
