What an excellent start to the year we have had!
Our Polar Plunge season brought in $45,000 and raised an immeasurable amount of public awareness! Thank you to all who came out to Plunge, or watch, as well as those who supported from the safety of a pledge!
In February we headed up to Grande Prairie to escort the Flame of Hope as we visited local schools throughout the day, spreading awareness for Special Olympics with the flame, and of course running the flame in the Final Leg to the Opening Ceremonies of the 2015 Provincial Winter Games.
And March came in with the start of a brand new month long campaign with Cora Restaurants. Throughout the entire month, every Cora Restaurant in Alberta raised funds in partnership with the ALETR to support Special Olympics and raise some invaluable awareness.
The Cops and Crepes campaign peaked on the 21st and 22nd of March as officers took on the task of working those tables with Special Olympics Athletes to spread the word about this great partnership between Alberta’s law enforcement and Special Olympics Alberta.
This great event raised over $63,000 and an invaluable amount of public awareness!
Thank you to all who have supported us so far this year! 2015 is shaping up to be incredible as we say goodbye to Winter and head into another spring and summer season of bike rides, roof sits, and runs!
