Lethridge 500K Covered by the Lethbridge Herald

The Lethbridge Herald has written a great article about the lead up to the 500K bike ride heading out June 6th. The annual Law Enforcement Ride for Special Olympics is set for Friday, June 6th. The purpose of the ride is to create awareness as it pertains to those persons who are challenged with intellectual disabilities.

On June 6th, a team of riders from Lethbridge and area, Rocky Mountain House, and Fort McMurray will depart en route to the K Division RCMP Headquarters in Edmonton. The team will arrive at K Division at 12:00 p.m. on June 7st 2013 after cycling for 24 hours. A short program will take place at this time to honor local Special Olympic Athletes. Officers gearing up for Law Enforcement Torch Run



Law Enforcement Torch Run is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle internationally. In Alberta, 18 agencies in 117 communities contribute to LETR efforts annually, not only with events, but as Guardians of the Flame ensuring the delivery of the Special Flame of Hope to the opening ceremony of Provincial Games and sending off our local athletes to National and World Games.
